About Me

Let me start by introducing myself

My name is Karlee and I am originally from Michigan, but moved to Wisconsin for college. I will soon be graduating from Concordia University Wisconsin with a degree in Lutheran Early Childhood and Special Education. *Please pray for me as I will soon enter the Lutheran call process for a teaching position!* I am pretty old-fashioned about a lot of things - I love cooking, baking, cleaning, projects, scrapbooking, singing, and more. My favorite activities on a Sunday would be to hit up a farmer's market, craft fair, beach, and find a new book after going to church with my family. Add in board games with homemade cupcakes I just baked and it would be perfect. I love going to orchards, local coffee shops, libraries, and my favorite store Goodwill! I come from a large family, so I was an aunt starting at the age of 5 and I absolutely love all of my nieces and nephews (even if they do continue to get taller than me). I am looking forward to the future of teaching and having a family, but I am also enjoying the blessings God has currently placed in my life with recently moving into an apartment in the Milwaukee area. My old-fashioned, country-girl heart is learning a lot about living in the big city!

My confirmation verse is:
Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity. 1 Timothy 4:12

This verse has always meant so much to me because it reminds me that God will use me as His light in whatever calling He has for me! I do not need to fear what He has planned and I should not listen to how others might judge me for living out His purpose!

Why did I start a blog?

Honestly, I started a blog because this summer I am a full-time nanny. I am working with kids 10+ so they often go play with the neighbors or have sports practices. I found myself with a couple hours every afternoon with some personal time. I love reading, but after a week of reading for a few hours every afternoon, I had to find something else to also occupy some time! I've been using my relaxing time to write, research (places to go, recipes, future teaching, etc.), do some yoga, and read. I have tried starting blogs before, but I have never been one to keep up with it. However, I am determined this time to have another outlet for reflection and relaxation. I am a journaler, which took some determination and practice, but I love being able to look back at old entries to see how God has continued to work in my life. It is amazing to see how He has shaped me over the years! Hopefully, this blog can be another way to reflect on my journey of faith and life!
